August in the UK

I took the dog for a walk across the fab Hewenden Viaduct this afternoon.
I was dressed in socks, trainers, warm trousers, long sleeve tee shirt, fleece and fleece lined windproof jacket. It was gusting near 40 knots of wind and the grey clouds were racing across the sky. I was lucky to be high up on the viaduct and able to see the shadows of said clouds scudding across the landscape when the sun fleetingly showed its face. Welcome to summer time in Yorkshire!! I don't think I've had more than a few days without it raining at some point during the day.

We also had some excitement at Hewenden a couple of days ago. A 39 foot stretch Audi limo came into the yard to pick up the bride that was staying at Bents Mill. Bents Mill and it's location has to be seen to be believed it is so beautiful. Anyone reading this wanting a holiday in this part of the world will be delighted if they chose to stay here. http://www.hewendenmillcottages.co.uk/

Anyway back to the limo, as you can see from the picture it was pretty impressive parked in the yard. Apparently it's the second longest stretch limo in the country, and that showed when the poor driver was trying to reverse it along the winding driveway. The inside can be turned into a mini disco with all it's lighting, sound system and bar. The bride looked stunning, in a hand made outfit, covered in beautiful beading and jewels. They were off to the religious part of the 4 days of ceremonies.
