Mark has been ringing once sometimes twice a week to try and get them to confirm a date for his operation. We've been given a date, but don't have it in writing yet. They've given us April 3rd. But until it is in writing, by which time they will have ordered the tools, I won't believe it's going to happen. It's over a year now since Mark was taken into hospital the first time and that's when started trying to get someone to take him seriously that there was a problem and it needed someone to look at it. The NHS are great when you are an emergency, but if you're not taking up a bed or in someone's face big time, you can be overlooked completely. If it hadn't been for Mark constantly chasing it up since Xmas that's what would have happened to him. I despair for people who can't shout out for themselves in this country.
Mark had another dysreflexia attack the other day. I was out in the garden for only half an hour, came in to check on him and he's trying to measure his blood pressure after spraying his GTN spray 5 or 6 times to stabilise it. it was off the scale. That's the first attack in months and months. After changing his catheter twice, it seemed to calm down. We're keeping our fingers crossed that doesn't start becoming a regular occurrence again. Other than that we've go no news. We've been confined to quarters with Mark in bed for the majority of the time over the last three weeks. I for one am going a bit stir crazy.
